Party Wall Advice

 

The Party Wall Act 1996 provides an alternative to costly court actions to prevent and resolve issues when building work involves party walls or excavating near neighbouring buildings. Party walls cover a range of scenarios as explained in the explanatory pdf documents on this page.

 

The Act gives a procedure to be followed using Surveyors representing the Building Owner and Adjoining owner to reach agreement at a significantly lower cost than using courts.
